As an early adopter of voice user interfaces, I got my hands on one of the first Amazon Echo’s available in Germany. From the beginning, I wanted to participate in this new way of interacting with a virtual assistant.
Therefore, I started to brainstorm ideas for useful Amazon Alexa Skill and came across the problem of forgetting a friend’s birthday. Due to limitations of accessible information through the Facebook Graph, I pivoted the Alexa Skill to tell you more about your birthday instead of birthdays of friends.
